MommyPotamus has some great suggested natural remedies for ants. Here are a few.

Essential Oils

You can use peppermint, orange or lemon oil with no worries, and the bonus is each of them smells fantastic. Just soak a cotton ball with one of these oils and then wipe it on baseboards around areas where you’ve had ants. They don’t like it!

Food-grade Diatomaceous Earth

What on earth is diatomaceous earth? It is an off-white powder, with a flour-like appearance, that is toxic to bugs with exoskeletons. When it is sprinkled on ants, fleas or bed bugs for example, it compromises the waxy coating on their bodies and turns their insides into jerky. As toxic as it is to bugs, diatomaceous earth is not harmful to humans, so it is safe to use at home. Just sprinkle it lightly around areas where you’ve had ants.

Dr. Bronner’s Soap

Dr. Bronner’s is toxic to ants in exactly the same way that diatomaceous earth is. MommyPotamus suggests filling a quart sized spray bottle almost all the way with Dr. Bronner’s. Then add 1/4 cup of peppermint castile soap. Shake to mix, then spray where you’ve seen ants entering your home. Repeat for a few days until you no longer see ants.

Baking Soda + Powdered Sugar

According to MommyPotamus, the sugar attracts ants, and the baking soda kills them. Mix it together 50-50, then place in shallow plastic lids {such as those from a Pringles can} wherever ants have been a problem.
