I love to keep a bouquet of fresh flowers on my table, but I get tired of using the same old plain glass vases. How about you? I recently discovered that we don’t have to settle for a plain glass vase. We also don’t have to spend a mint to buy a fancy one, because there are a lot of beautiful ways to make a vase at home! Let me show you some lovely examples.

This rustic DIY flower vase is so simple to make. Just cover a glass cylinder vase with kindling {use a glue gun from Michaels}, then add a raffia or twine bow to complete the project. I love the way the wood sets off the flowers!

If you love the look of a rustic wood vase, you can go even more natural by using a real birch branch as a vase. Just hollow out the interior. You can place a slim glass vase inside if you plan to use fresh flowers.

Cover a plain glass vase with wine corks. You can purchase a pack of wine corks, or just save up your own.

Another fun way to cover a plain glass vase is to use seashells. If you’ve already got a seashell collection from your beach vacations, you’re set!
