4 Festive Fourth of July Party Ideas

June 7, 2018 by Jackie Leave a Comment

Before your next Fourth of July celebration rolls around, check out the following 4 festive ideas for a Fourth of July party to remember.

Decorations

  • Use a galvanized bucket and red, white & blue lollipops to make a Fourth of July centerpiece that’s adorable and simple. Set a piece of floral foam inside a small galvanized bucket and then stick a whole “bouquet” of Tootsie Roll pops in red, white and blue wrappers into the foam.
  • Cut a large star stencil out of cardboard. Lay it on the grass and use red, white and blue construction marking spray paint to paint festive stars on the lawn. Your guests will love it!
  • Paint mason jars in patriotic patterns of red, white and blue {chalk paint is a good option}. Use them to hold plasticware for your Fourth of July barbecue.

Food

  • Dip Oreo cookies into melted white chocolate and cover with patriotic sprinkles. Kids especially love these!
  • Spend just a little bit of extra time and get big impact by cutting your watermelon with a star-shaped cookie cutter.
  • Patriotic deviled eggs are also a party hit. Peel and halve your hard cooked eggs, then remove the yolks. Place some of the egg white halves into red and/or blue colored water for just a couple of minutes to dye them. Remove and arrange on a plate. Pipe in your favorite egg white, mayo & mustard mix.

Games

  • Let the kids glue popsicle sticks into flag shapes, and then paint them with red, white & blue craft paint.
  • Play Patriotic Bingo! Here is a link to a free printable. Super easy and fun!
  • Have a supply of sidewalk chalk in patriotic colors so the kids can stay busy outside.

DIY Craft Projects

  • Turn a regular string of white Christmas lights into a fun decoration for your Fourth. Blow up some 5″ balloons and coat them in a thin layer of petroleum jelly. Now wrap them in red, white and blue yarns. Mix two parts of white school to one part water, and paint this mixture on the yarn-wrapped balloons. Hang them from clothespins until thoroughly dry. Once the glue has dried, pop the balloons. Now you have some adorable yarn globes to put over the bulbs of your string lights!
  • Use patriotic papers in fun prints to make pinwheels for the garden. Just glue them to wood dowels and stick them in the ground.
