Put your cell phone into a plastic bag so that it won’t get wet or sandy while you enjoy your time at the beach. Not only does it protect your phone, you will still be able to use it through the plastic!

Wrap up your valuables in an empty sunscreen bottle. This will protect all of your money or expensive items from being stolen while you splash in the waves. Nobody will ever suspect they are inside your sunscreen and you can be worry free.

Make sure to pack some yogurt with you on your trip to the beach. It will provide quick relief from sunburns. Just rub it on and let the yogurt work its magic.

Make hand and footprint casts in the sand! This is a wonderful project for kids while at the beach and is a memory they can take home with them. All you need is some plaster of paris, a ziplock bag, a measuring cup, and a watertight pail. For full instructions, visit Crafting a Green World.

For foot protection, flip over your sandals while you are at the beach. When you are ready to go home, you can slip them on without getting burned or having to carry your shoes back to your car. The tops will be nice and cool.

To keep hydrated, make sure to freeze your drinks the night before your beach vacation. This will keep them nice and cold throughout the day so you don’t have to worry about ice melting or your drinks being really hot. Some drinks will also have a nice slushy texture!

Have you always wanted a temporary tattoo? Sunscreen is your perfect solution! Just squeeze it on in the design you want and sit out in the sun for a while. Then jump in the ocean to wash it off, and you will have the perfect tattoo that can last for weeks.

For some natural highlights in your hair, use lemon juice. Apply it in the areas you want some color before you head out, and then go enjoy the beach! The sun will activate the lemon and give you some natural looking color.

If you like listening to music and want to take it with you to the beach, bring a cup with you! Place your phone inside the cup and it will work as a speaker to amplify your music. This is a great way to have music for all of your family and friends to hear, without having to plug in an actual speaker system.

Just get creative with long sticks (you can even pick up some you find at the beach) and tie a few sheets or light weight blankets to them, and viola! Everyone will wish they had thought of the same idea.

Freeze water balloons to take with you to the beach. They will help keep any food you bring with you cold, and once they are completely thawed you can use them as a water balloon fight for some fun!

Are you worried about losing your keys while at the beach? Attach them to a wine cork and they will be easier to recognize and can even float in case they fall in the water.

Everyone dreams of having beautiful beach waves during the summer. Just mix some of your favorite conditioner, sea salt, and water and then spray it onto your hair. Scrunch up your hair after adding this mixture until you have your desired waves. To have an even longer hold, mix some gel into the product. You’ll look totally beach ready!

For quick and easy relief after a sunburn, apply some apple cider vinegar. It will quickly cool your burn and soothe your skin.

We all know the family that goes to the beach and takes 500 bags with them. There is the food bag, the toy bag, the towel bag, the drink bag… Does this sound familiar? To save space and shoulder pain, pack it all in a giant Rubbermaid container. It will fit everything you need in one trip, it’s waterproof, and is easy to wash out when your done!

To keep your little ones safe, pack a miniature beach pool. Then they can still play in the water without you having to worry about them getting knocked over by the waves. They will have so much fun and you won’t have to worry about them the whole time!

Make your own lip stain! For a pop of color (that also tastes DELICIOUS!!) apply your favorite chapstick. Then rub on some Kool Aid, which will mix with the moisture from the chapstick and stay for hours.

For all of your beach essentials, sew pockets onto the end of your beach towel. It will keep everything you need in place and easy to access!

Make aloe vera ice cubes for your trip, or have them ready to use when you come back. Sometimes even after applying lots of sunscreen, people still get burnt. All you need to do is fill an ice cube tray with aloe vera and then store them in the freezer. Is there a better way to soothe a burn?

While at the beach, the sun rays can sometimes do damage to your skin, especially your face! To protect your skin, use some Frankincense oil with your moisturizer to help your skin stay radiant and healthy.

Make your own waterproof bag! Find any material that will repel water and wrap it around a bag you already have, or make a new one from scratch. Lots of beach bags are cotton but the sand sticks to them and they will get ruined. Making your own will save you money and protect all of your items from getting ruined.

As much as everyone enjoys the beach, it can be frustrating to have your legs and arms covered in sand, especially when getting back in the car to head home. To quickly and easily remove the sand that is attached to your body, rub some baby powder over the covered areas. The sand will come off instantly!
