1.My favorite tip came from one of my neighbors years ago. I’ve used it ever since! Her tip is simple–when the dryer finishes, pull the items out one by one, and fold them as you go. Then you have only to put them away. {And you’ll deal with a lot less wrinkles!}.
2. Go to the nearest dollar store and buy a mesh laundry bag for each person in your family. Label them with a permanent laundry marker. Use these bags for socks and you will permanently end missing sock woes!
3. A sectioned laundry hamper means that you can pre-sort your laundry, saving time and trouble in the laundry room.
4. Set up a small sorting station in the laundry room for all those little items that need something–to be mended, to be ironed, or treated for stains. Get your storage baskets at Michael’s!
5. Lemons are a wonderful natural stain fighter and bleaching agent. Soak fruit juice and rust stains in lemon juice, then lay the item in the sun to work a little magic. {Make sure the stain is gone before putting it in the dryer}.
6. Get those yucky yellow underarm stains out with a paste made from dishwashing liquid, hydrogen pyroxide, and baking soda. It really works!
7. Another of my personal favorite laundry tips is to use Borax. Borax helps whiten, powers up your detergent, and helps make towels softer. There’s no reason not to use it!
8. When you must wash your tennis shoes, do you let them bang around the dryer, or take two days to air dry? There’s a better way! Knot the laces together, and hang the shoes from the door, with the knot trapped on the outside. Brilliant!
9. This is a genius tip that I seriously need in my life. Use a dry erase marker to make a note on the washer to remind yourself of anything that you don’t want going in the dryer before you accidentally throw it in there.
10. Make yourself a DIY ironing board. It allows you to quickly iron something when and where you want, without being chained to the ironing board.
